Spend your summer with SCPL!

Did you know that we have summer reading for adults too? SCPL Adult Summer Reading is open for business from June 2nd to July 31st! Stop in at any branch to join the fun!

How ASR works

Adult Summer Reading this year is really simple! To join the fun, pick up a challenge card at your local branch. On the back of the card is a list of 10 options (including reading or listening to a book, coming to a program or reading a graphic novel). Once you complete six of the ten, bring your library card and your completed challenge card back to your library, and you’ll receive a prize!

What we’re doing

Across our 10 branches, SCPL is holding over 150 programs this summer for adults, from exercise and crafts to book & movie discussions! Every branch has its own program menu for you to pick up so you can keep track of what’s going on at your library.

Who we’re having

Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan bookcoverOn June 12th, Headquarters Library is hosting J. Courtney Sullivan, the author of the bestselling novels The Engagements, Maine, and Commencement. To celebrate, each branch is giving away copies of Maine to the first 20 participants of Adult Summer Reading who pick up their challenge cards on June 2nd. The Headquarters Library will be giving away copies to the first 100 participants who pick up their challenge cards at the Adult Summer Reading kickoff, Loco for Local Foods, on June 3rd from 11am to 1pm.

If you have any questions about programs or our Adult Summer Reading program, please call your local branch library or (864) 596-3502 for more information.
