General Information

Kidzmas is a free, after-hours event for children and their families that will feature pop-up illustrator Robert Sabuda on December 17, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

During the event from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. you and your family can roam the first two levels of the Headquarters library looking at the decorated trees and twinkling lights. Enjoy a holiday cookie by the fireplace while listening to some live holiday music, head to Mrs. Claus’s kitchen to decorate a gingerbread man, step inside our 3-D snowflake cave, and enjoy some family fun with our other crafts and activities. Santa will also be here so children can make their present requests and a couple of his reindeer will be available to pet and feed!

At 7:00 p.m. everyone will gather together to hear Robert Sabuda tell all about how he creates his amazing pop-ups and read his version of The Night Before Christmas.

This is a holiday event that your family won’t want to miss. Recommended for ages 4-12 but all families are welcome!

A couple of quick reminders:

  • Since library operations will be closed, book checkouts, renewals & returns will not be possible during this event.

  • Robert Sabuda will not be autographing books at this event, but an autographed copy of Robert Sabuda’s The Night Before Christmas will be given to each family at the close of the event. **Please note this is one book per family with children present only.
