What is INFORMation Spartanburg?
INFORMation Spartanburg is Spartanburg's Community Information Database.
This is a public service provided by the library to keep you informed about community
services and organizations. Categories of information include: local clubs and
organizations (civic groups, garden clubs, book clubs, chambers of commerce, festivals,
neighborhood associations, professional associations, religious groups, etc.), public services (consumer, legal, educational, health,
employment, etc), recycling centers, retirement communities, support groups and
more. Information provided on each group includes: contact people, addresses,
phone numbers, fax numbers, email and Internet addresses, hours, and detailed descriptions.

How do I access INFORMation Spartanburg?
You may access this information in several different
ways. Each February, we compile the information into a printed directory
which we sell at cost in the library and through the mail. This
year it costs $6.75 to pick up the directory and $9.00 to have it mailed to you;
request your copy now.
You may also access the information from our
web page. Or, call the Spartanburg County
Public Libraries' Telephone Reference Service at 596-3505, and we will be glad to look
something up for you.

How accurate and up-to-date is this information?
We continually update the information in the database. We send
questionnaires out each month to groups in the directory and they themselves verify that
the information is accurate. Other information comes from United Way of the Piedmont,
Spartanburg's League of Women Voters, the Department of Social Services, newspapers, and
other reference sources. Note that every record contains the date the information was last
updated.

Directories are sold at cost and are currently $9.00 if mailed and $6.75 if picked up at
